In general, vehicles taken over from Nazi-Germany, were given a white three-digit number, displayed on the turret sides or superstructure, in addition to a white roundel displaying a black tank-symbol. Vehicles obtained from US, British or Russian stocks tended to just have a smaller four or five-digit white number on the turret side or superstructure. Vehicles from the former allies were generally painted in a light and blueish olive drab. The colours from former Nazi-vehicles are most probably the same. Post-war produced vehicles were of the same colour or in a camouflage pattern of mid-green, combined with light grass green and sometimes chocolate brown and mud yellow.
