German A7v Hedi

During the final year of World War I, two chassis of the A7V were handed to the German signals troops, to be converted to armoured signals vehicles. These two vehicles were completed, but saw no action during the war. With the German revolution going on, the vehicles were seized by Freikorps units and used in 1919 as riot control vehicles in Berlin and Leipzig. As one of them carried the name „Hedi“, they have popularly become known as the A7V Hedi. The vehicle with number 54 was used by the Freikorps in january 1919 in Berlin. The vehicle which was called Hedi saw action in may 1919 in Leipzig, in support of the Landesjägerkorps. There’s no proof of the vehicles being used in any way after the summer of 1919, so it’s most likely that they have been scrapped as a result of the Versailles treaty.
