Designed and built as a bomber, the Bristol "Blenheim" turned out an effective heavily armed long-range fighter and night fighter in the initial stage of the war, when the Royal Air Force carried out a number of diverse tasks of the military assistance to France, the defence of the UK and offensive operations against Germany. In all these actions, "Blenheim" was at the forefront from the early days of the Second World War. A total of 4,422 "Blenheims" were built in various versions.
