This limited-edition set combines three highly unusual subjects representing the latest generation of Chinese military technology: the Type 100 tracked support vehicle, the ZRZ-100 Unmanned Ground Combat Vehicle (UCGV), and three four-legged “Robot Wolves” combat systems. Together, they illustrate a modern battlefield concept in which conventional armoured vehicles operate alongside unmanned ground and aerial platforms.
The set allows the modeller to create a small combat group combining a manned armoured vehicle with a larger unmanned tracked platform and compact quadrupedal robots. It is an especially interesting subject for modellers interested in contemporary military technology, as these systems were publicly presented only recently as part of China's latest generation of combat equipment.
The models are designed for assembly and painting. Glue and paints are not included.
The Type 100 is a modern tracked support vehicle developed alongside the new-generation Type 100 main battle tank. Rather than replacing the conventional tank, it is intended to provide additional reconnaissance, protection and fire-support capabilities within an armoured formation.
The vehicle features a distinctive angular hull and an unmanned turret. This configuration allows the crew to remain inside the protected hull while the main weapon and observation equipment are located in the turret. Extensive optical and electronic equipment forms an important part of the vehicle's combat capability.
The Type 100 is designed to operate as part of a networked combat system. Information from sensors and other platforms can be shared throughout the formation, allowing individual vehicles to operate with a broader picture of the battlefield rather than relying solely on their own observation systems.
An unmanned aerial vehicle is also associated with the Type 100. The option included in the kit allows the drone to be shown either stored on the vehicle or deployed in flight, making it possible to represent an active reconnaissance mission.
The ZRZ-100 UCGV (Unmanned Ground Combat Vehicle) is a tracked unmanned combat platform developed as part of China's emerging family of robotic military systems. Its most important characteristic is the ability to perform combat and reconnaissance tasks without placing a crew inside the vehicle.
An unmanned platform can be used in situations where sending a manned vehicle would expose personnel to unnecessary danger. Such a vehicle can conduct reconnaissance, provide fire support, observe terrain or approach potentially dangerous areas while being controlled remotely.
The ZRZ-100 is equipped with sensors and remotely operated combat equipment. Detailed official information concerning its armour, propulsion system, exact armament and performance remains limited.
