Riich Models CV35A017 is a 1:35 scale plastic model kit of the British Bedford military truck. This 4-in-1 set allows the modeller to build one of four variants: OSA, OSB, OSAT or OSBT. The kit includes a detailed cab interior and components for constructing either a standard cargo truck or a tipping truck.
The Bedford vehicles from the O series were used by the British armed forces to transport supplies, equipment and construction materials. The tipper versions were particularly useful for engineering and infrastructure work, including road construction, earthmoving and the preparation of military airfields.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Plastic cement, paints and modelling tools are not included.
The Bedford OSA and OSB belonged to the military O series of trucks, which were based on proven civilian Bedford designs developed during the late 1930s. These vehicles featured conventional chassis construction, rear-wheel drive and robust six-cylinder petrol engines.
The Bedford OSA was a general-purpose cargo truck with a payload of approximately 1.5 tonnes. The closely related OSB featured a longer wheelbase, making it suitable for larger or more specialised bodywork.
The OSAT and OSBT variants were fitted with tipping bodies designed for transporting and unloading bulk materials such as soil, gravel, sand and aggregate. These vehicles were particularly valuable to engineering units and construction teams working on roads, fortifications, airfields and other military infrastructure.
The use of tipping trucks helped accelerate construction and logistical operations in field conditions, where simple maintenance, reliable operation and rapid unloading were important advantages.
Military Bedford trucks entered production before the outbreak of the Second World War and became an important part of the British transport and supply system. They complemented larger vehicles such as the Bedford OX and OY series.
Vehicles from the O series served in various theatres of war. In addition to carrying general cargo, they transported construction materials, technical equipment and supplies required to maintain military bases and forward positions.
