Riich Models CV35A009 is a 1:35 scale plastic model kit of the Finnish Vickers 6-Ton light tank, representing the late-production Alt B variant. The kit features a detailed interior and a 2-in-1 configuration, allowing the modeller to build one of two Finnish vehicles equipped with different 37 mm guns.
The available armament options include the Swedish Bofors 37 mm gun and the French Puteaux SA18 37 mm gun. The kit also includes clear parts, photo-etched details and decals for five marking options, making it possible to recreate different vehicles operated by the Finnish Army.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Plastic cement, paints and modelling tools are not included.
The Vickers 6-Ton, also known as the Vickers Mark E, was a British light tank developed in the late 1920s. The design was intended primarily for export, as the British Army decided not to adopt it for domestic service.
The tank was produced in two principal configurations. The Type A featured two small turrets, while the Type B was fitted with a single turret. The export version featured a modified hull layout and a turret positioned to the left of the vehicle’s centreline.
The Vickers 6-Ton achieved considerable export success and was used by numerous countries, including Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Thailand, China and the Soviet Union. The design also influenced the development of the Polish 7TP and the Soviet T-26.
Finland acquired Vickers 6-Ton tanks during the 1930s and used them as part of its armoured forces. The vehicles were further adapted to Finnish requirements and received different armament configurations during their service life.
Some Finnish tanks were equipped with the Swedish Bofors 37 mm anti-tank gun, while others received the French Puteaux SA18 37 mm gun. These modifications produced distinctive variants of the Vickers 6-Ton and make Finnish vehicles an interesting subject for military modellers.
Finnish Vickers tanks saw combat during the Winter War and the Continuation War. Their service illustrates the way smaller armies adapted imported armoured vehicles to local operational requirements.
