The Russian Mi-24V Hind E Combat Helicopters has been built since 1976. With a weapon-load of up to two ton's, the helicopter possesses enormous fire-power. The helicopter is very versatile and despite its high take-off weight is still fast and agile. The fuselage and rotor system are armoured and partially protected against small arms fire up to 23 millimetres calibre. The Mi-24 is therefore often referred to as the Flying Tank . So far, more than 2300 Mi-24 have been produced in various models.
