The new flagship of this Swedish manufacturer presents itself with a powerful 15.6 litre 500 bhp V8 engine. Thanks to the pulling power of this engine the R 500 shines with a truly remarkable performance. Its fast and potent V8 pulls away at the lowest speeds and is also extremely agile so that it leaves the competition far behind both on acceleration and on overtaking. Due to its state-of-the-art environmentally friendly and energy saving engine systems (SRF = selective catalytic reduction exhaust gas treatment) this truck complies with standards Euro 4 or Euro 5 depending on the configuration. A worthy successor to the 164-480 it also handles very positively, which is attributable to the new electronic control systems and upgraded braking system. Even when fully loaded, this powerful Swede is convincing on any type of road including steep climbs. This gives it a high average speed, an absolute must for modern transport. The large topline cab offers a luxuriously appointed and serviceable workplace. Another good feature is the extremely wide range of adjustment of the steering wheel. The interior is comfortable, all switches are within easy reach. The numerous stowage spaces are more than adequate for storing both personal belongings and working equipment.
