This model represents the 1918 Ford T Runabout, a two-seat car with an open body and a folding canvas top. The kit recreates the distinctive silhouette of one of the most recognisable vehicles in American automotive history. The manufacturer has carefully reproduced the original proportions, along with detailed engine, suspension and bodywork components.
The Runabout version, later known as the Roadster, was a lightweight and relatively inexpensive car designed for two occupants. A large storage compartment was located behind the seats, while one of its distinctive features was a single body door on the right-hand side. The folding top provided protection from rain and wind.
The Ford T featured an unusual planetary transmission operated by three pedals, controlling forward drive, reverse and braking. The car could reach speeds of approximately 65–70 km/h. Its high ground clearance and flexible suspension also allowed it to cope with the rough and muddy roads of early 20th-century America.
