This model represents a German Sd.Kfz. 251/1 half-track armoured personnel carrier converted into a self-propelled rocket launcher. Six launch rails were mounted along the sides of the vehicle to fire heavy 28 cm and 32 cm Nebelwerfer 41 rockets. The kit also includes crew figures.
The distinctive nickname “Stuka zu Fuß”, meaning “Stuka on Foot”, referred to the whistling sound of the rockets, which resembled the noise of the Ju 87 dive bomber. Vehicles of this type provided mobile fire support for armoured and panzergrenadier units.
Operating the launcher required considerable physical effort. The crew had to raise and secure the launch frames manually, while reloading was a lengthy process due to the weight of the rockets and their containers. The launch rails could be elevated from +5° to +40°. Horizontal aiming was achieved by turning the entire vehicle.
