Ford Model A Model

The model depicts the Ford Model A in a distinctive version featuring an open body, a folding roof, and a highly detailed interior. The kit's construction includes a complete chassis frame, engine, drivetrain, suspension, and steering components.

Great attention has been paid to the details of the bodywork and fittings. Features such as the distinctive radiator, fenders, headlights, spoked wheels, and dashboard have all been faithfully recreated. The model can be displayed with the roof down, ensuring the details of the passenger cabin remain clearly visible.

The set also includes accessories that enhance the gangster theme of the scene, including weapons and a suitcase.

Gangster Figures

Three figures were designed as an integral part of the scene. Their poses and equipment allow for a depiction of the car's crew in action. The set also includes period-accurate hats, suits, and weapons, capturing the atmosphere of the American underworld in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Ford Model A

The Ford Model A was introduced in 1927 as the successor to the immensely popular Model T. Compared to its predecessor, it was larger, heavier, and equipped with a significantly more powerful engine. It also featured a more modern body design and a richer set of features.

The vehicle quickly became one of the most popular passenger cars in the United States. Production continued until 1931, with a total of approximately 4.9 million units manufactured. The Model A was also manufactured outside the USA, including in Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, and the USSR.

Gangster America in the 1920s and 1930s

During the late 1920s and the 1930s, American organized crime evolved from the activities of small street gangs into far more organized syndicates. A hallmark of this era was bank robberies that utilized fast cars and an ever-improving network of paved roads.

The Thompson submachine gun played a significant role in arming gangsters. It cost around 200 dollars—nearly half the price of a Ford Model A at the time. The scale of some robberies was immense; during a heist in Greencastle, John Dillinger’s gang made off with a sum equivalent to approximately 1.5 million dollars today. By the late 1930s, economic stabilization and the modernization of law enforcement methods brought an end to this era of spectacular robberies.
