Kit Description valorization

This kit was developed for modelers who want to create the most accurate miniature of the German battleship Bismarck possible. By using components made from a variety of materials, it allows you to replace many plastic parts with much more accurate counterparts and enrich the model with numerous details not included in the basic set.

The most striking element of the kit is the laser-cut wooden deck. The natural wood texture allows for a realistic look of the planking without the need for time-consuming painting and grain imitation.

The kit contains eleven sheets of photo-etched parts, including railings, ladders, gangways, radars, cranes, catapults, platforms, shields, superstructure details, and numerous deck furnishings. These allow for the reproduction of significantly greater detail than using plastic parts alone.

The set also includes resin parts and over two hundred turned brass parts. These include main and auxiliary artillery barrels, anti-aircraft weaponry, masts, yards, and many small equipment details. The use of metal parts allows for very thin and perfectly symmetrical parts that would be much more difficult to produce in plastic.

The manufacturer has also included metal propellers, an anchor chain, and a set of small assembly components, which further enhance the realism of the finished model.

The entire set creates one of the most extensive enhancement sets available for the Trumpeter 03702 model and allows you to raise the level of detail of the miniature to display standard.

Kit Assembly

The set is intended for modelers experienced in working with photo-etched parts and metal parts. Assembly requires precision, the right tools, and the use of cyanoacrylate glues or other adhesives designed for metal and resin.

Before beginning work, it's worth carefully reviewing the manufacturer's instructions and planning the assembly sequence accordingly. In many cases, the embellishment elements should be installed before gluing the basic parts of the model.

Modeling Tips

• Before gluing the wooden deck, thoroughly degrease the surface of the plastic deck.
• Photo-etched parts are best bent using a metal bender or flat-nose modeling pliers.
• It's best to assemble the turned barrels only after most of the painting is complete.
• It's best to paint the metal anchor chain separately before assembly.
• Before cutting the photo-etched parts, it's best to secure the work area to avoid losing very small parts.
