Standard colours of Israeli aircraft in 1970s
After the Six-Day War the long used brown and blue over grey scheme of Israeli AF applied to ground support aircraft was regarded as not appropriate for operations over Sinai. In July 1967 a new painting scheme of FS33531 Sand, FS34227 Pale Green and FS30219 Dark Tan over׳ FS35622 Duck Egg Blue was revealed. It was later known as „1970’s desert scheme”. A-4H/N Skyhawks used FS34258 Green instead of FS34227, while several Mirage IIIs interceptors in 1970 still used an overall natural metal finish.
