Polski samochód pancerny wz. 29 from First to Fight is an easy-to-build model representing one of the most interesting Polish armored cars used during the interwar period and the early stages of the Second World War. The 1:72 scale kit is designed for straightforward assembly, making it suitable both as a standalone model and as part of a larger collection of vehicles from the September 1939 campaign.
The model is supplied unassembled and requires plastic model cement for assembly. Glue and paints are not included.
The Ursus wz. 29, also known as the wz. 29 armored car, was a Polish armored vehicle developed for the Polish Army. The design used numerous components of the Ursus A truck. Unlike the earlier wz. 28 armored car, it featured a conventional wheeled chassis.
The vehicle had a carefully designed armored hull which protected the crew against small-arms fire and most artillery fragments. Its relatively powerful armament was another advantage, consisting of a 37 mm gun and two machine guns.
The Ursus wz. 29 was not produced in large numbers. Its limited production was partly due to its modest performance. The vehicle had a relatively low maximum road speed, a high silhouette which made it easier to hit, and limited off-road mobility.
Despite these limitations, the wz. 29 armored cars saw combat during the September 1939 campaign. The vehicles were used by the Mazovian Cavalry Brigade, where they took part in combat operations against German forces.
