The Fine Art 180AK is a dual-action modelling airbrush equipped with a 9 ml gravity-feed paint cup mounted on top of the body. The set includes three nozzles with dedicated needles in 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm diameters, allowing the tool to be easily adapted to both precise work and the painting of larger surfaces. The airbrush also includes a mini air filter, quick-release coupling and a 1.8 m long air hose.
When working with an airbrush, it is important to prepare the paint properly. Choosing the correct ratio of paint to thinner is particularly important and depends, among other things, on the type of paint, nozzle diameter, air pressure and the desired effect. Pipettes or applicators such as Pipette Set 8 pcs + 2 pcs Gratis or Dropper 4 in 1 can be used for accurate measuring. Paint can be mixed directly in the airbrush cup, although a separate paint well, such as MODELING PAINT WELLS, is a more convenient solution.
The Fine Art 180AK uses an internal mixing system, in which paint and air are mixed inside the head before leaving the airbrush. The dual-action design allows the user to control both the airflow and the amount of paint supplied by means of the trigger. This makes it possible, among other things, to create smooth colour and tonal transitions. A rear adjustment mechanism allows the maximum needle stroke to be limited, thereby controlling the maximum amount of paint supplied.
The airbrush body is made of stainless steel. Its front section is also equipped with a Micro Air Control Valve, which allows additional adjustment of the airflow directly at the airbrush.
The use of three nozzle diameters makes the airbrush suitable for a wide range of modelling applications. The 0.2 mm and 0.3 mm nozzles are particularly suitable for precision painting, fine lines, pre-shading and multi-colour camouflage patterns on aircraft, military vehicles and other models. The 0.5 mm nozzle is especially useful for applying primer, base coats and uniform coats of paint over larger surfaces, such as car bodies, ship hulls or large vehicle models. The airbrush can also be successfully used when working on dioramas and vignettes.
The quality of airbrushing depends not only on the airbrush itself, but also on many other factors, such as paint consistency, air pressure, the distance between the airbrush and the painted surface, and the ambient temperature. Therefore, before starting the actual painting, it is worth testing the paint on a piece of paper or cardboard. This makes it possible to check how the prepared paint behaves and, if necessary, adjust its dilution or the airbrush settings.
During a break, if there is still paint in the cup, the airbrush should be placed on a suitable stand. Useful accessories include Mr.Stand or Uchwyt na cztery aerografy - H2. This helps prevent the tool from accidentally tipping over and spilling paint.
Regular cleaning is also an important part of proper airbrush maintenance. After painting, it is recommended to flush the airbrush with a suitable cleaning solution, such as Airbrush Cleaner or Airbrush Cleaner 85 ml. Residual paint and cleaning solution can then be sprayed into a dedicated cleaning container, such as Airbrush Cleaning Pot Pojemnik do czyszczenia aerografu or Pojemnik do czyszczenia z uchwytem.
After disassembling the airbrush, suitable cleaning tools can be used for more thorough cleaning. These include Czyściki, Wyciory do Aerografu - Zestaw, Zestaw do czyszczenia aerografów and Wyciory do czyszczenia dyszy. Cotton swabs, cotton pads and paper towels can also be useful. If the nozzle is heavily contaminated with dried paint, a specialised Igła do czyszczenia dyszy or Igła do czyszczenia dysz aerografów can be used. However, care should be taken, as excessive force may damage the nozzle. Alternatively, a brush with long synthetic bristles, particularly a liner brush such as A.MIG 8591 SYNTHETIC LINER BRUSH 1, can be used.
When cleaning the airbrush, it is recommended to remove the needle towards the front, from the head side. This reduces the risk of transferring paint residue to the trigger and the rear section of the airbrush. After thorough cleaning, the tool should be left to dry completely.
The Fine Art 180AK requires a supply of compressed air. This can be provided by a can of compressed air or a modelling piston or diaphragm compressor. Connecting the airbrush to the air source is made easier by the included air hose and quick-release coupling, which allows the tool to be quickly disconnected.
