Both models are based on new Eduard molds. The set also includes pre-colored photo-etched parts, resin wheels, 3D-printed seats with seatbelts, and painting masks.
A special bonus is a 1:16 scale MiG-15bis instrument panel produced using 3D printing technology. The MiG-15 was one of the first successful Soviet jet aircraft featuring swept wings. The design was developed in the late 1940s by the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau. The aircraft made its maiden flight in 1947 and entered service at the beginning of the following decade.
The Korean War provided one of the most significant combat experiences for the MiG-15. Soviet fighters of this type engaged American aircraft, including the North American F-86 Sabre. High speed, a favorable thrust-to-weight ratio, and effective armament made the MiG-15 a formidable opponent for Allied jet fighters.
The MiG-15bis was an evolution of the baseline MiG-15 version. It featured, among other improvements, a more powerful Klimov VK-1 engine and a series of modifications designed to enhance performance and operational characteristics. This variant became one of the key production versions of the MiG-15 family and saw widespread use by the air forces of the Soviet Union and its allied nations.
The MiG-15 and MiG-15bis were also manufactured under license in other countries. The design quickly spread across Europe, Asia, and Africa, resulting in aircraft of this type appearing in a wide variety of marking and paint schemes.
