The Boeing 777 is a long-range wide-body twin-engine jet airliner manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It is the world's largest twinjet and has a capacity of over 300 passengers, with a range of 5,235 to 9,380 nautical miles (9,695 to 17,370 km), depending on model. Commonly referred to as the "Triple Seven", its distinguishing features include the largest-diameter turbofan engines of any aircraft, six wheels on each main landing gear, a circular fuselage cross-section and a blade-shaped tail cone. As of August 2012, 1,040 Boeing 777s were built.
The Boeing 777-200ER ("ER" for Extended Range) features additional fuel capacity and an increased maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) over the original -200. Aimed at international airlines operating transatlantic routes, the -200ER's maximum range is 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 km). As of June 2012, -200ER deliveries to 33 different customers totaled 417, ranking the -200ER as the most widely produced variant of the twinjet to date. There are 15 Boeing 777-200ER aircraft in the KLM fleet (September 2012). From 1998 to 2005, Aeroflot leased two Boeing 777-200ERs, using the type on routes to the USA. [Wikipedia]
