The German sFH howitzer – powerful fire support for the Wehrmacht

The German sFH (schwere Feldhaubitze), or heavy field howitzer, was a key element of the Wehrmacht's artillery during World War II. It was characterized by high firepower and the ability to deliver effective indirect fire at long ranges.

The most famous model was the 150 mm sFH 18, which became the primary weapon of heavy infantry and armored artillery divisions. This howitzer allowed for the destruction of enemy troop positions, fortifications, and concentrations of forces, effectively supporting offensive and defensive operations on various fronts.
