

The Dieppe Raid, also known as The Battle of Dieppe, Operation Rutter or Operation Jubilee, was an Allied attack on the German-occupied port of Dieppe on the northern coast of France on 19th August 1942. Over 6000 infantrymen, predominantly Canadian, were supported by large Royal Navy and Royal Air Force contingents to seize and hold Dieppe for a while. The plan falied. Almost 60% of those who made it ashore were killed, wounded or captured. Also a contingent of vehicles was lost. In this set a number of tanks and armoured cars that went into the fray, most of them were lost or taken over by the Germans.
