A squadron of Free French resistance fighters under captain Guy Besnier got access of a number of captured German vehicles. They hastily exchanged swastika's balkenkreuzen and other German markings for the French roundel, some Lorraine crosses and in some cases vehicle numbers. This group fought in the Pocket of Saint-Nazaire.
