The "Lysander" multirole plane entered production in Great Britain in April 1938 in three baseline models. It fought for the first time in France in 1940 in the attack and reconnaissance roles. Then "Lysanders" were used in North Africa and Burma, and had been used for delivering Special Operations Executive agents and cargo deep behind the German lines. The aircraft in service with the Finnish Air Force entered the fighting in July 1941. Westland "Lysander" was widely used by armies of Great Britain, Ireland, Egypt, Canada, France, Turkey, India, Finland and Portugal. 1,674 planes were manufactured in total.
FROG company released the Westland "Lysander" scale model kit in 1968. In 1977, this kit went on sale in a package of NOVO. And in 1980 - in a package of NOVOEXPORT.
