The Lockheed "Ventura" American plane entered full-rate production in summer 1941, with the naval recce/bomber and ASW/patrol versions becoming the best known. The PV-1 "Ventura" was a military version of the Lockheed Model 18 "Lodestar" passenger aircraft. In addition to the US Army and Navy, aircraft of this type were in the inventories of the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, The Union of South Africa, Free France and Brazil during World War II. The Soviet Air Force used several aircraft late in the war too. A total of 3,028 aircraft were made in various variants.
FROG company released the Lockheed PV-1 "Ventura" aircraft scale model kit in 1977. In 1984, this kit went on sale in a box of Donetsk Toys Factory.
