The Tupolev SB high-speed medium bomber was the most widespread Soviet bomber by the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Its production commenced in 1936 and discontinued in 1941. It was also produced as "B-71" in Czechoslovakia. The SB found a large-scale use in Spain and China, at Khalkhyn Gol, during the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-40 and in the early stage of the Great Patriotic War. A total of 6,831 SB bombers were made in several variants.
FROG company released the SB-2 bomber scale model kit in 1969. In 1978, this kit went on sale in a box of NOVO.
