The first improved Hawker "Hurricane" fighter tailored to actions from ship decks was made in March 1941. The serial variant was designated as the "Sea Hurricane". At first, aircraft of this type were launched by catapults and then they operated from aircraft carriers. These fighters were used actively by the Royal Navy in hostilities starting from March 1942. A total of more than 1,200 "Sea Hurricanes" were produced in various modifications.
