After the revolt of 1905 the ironclad "Prince Potemkin-Tavricheskiy" was renamed "Saint Panteleymon" (in 1714, on the day of the commemoration of Saint Panteleymon the Russian Fleet won a victory at Gangut). In 1906, the "Saint Panteleymon" (with a cleaned from revolutionaries crew) became a flagship of the Separate Practical Detachment. This Detachment had to work out new methods of artillery fire-control for large distances and speeds. In 1907, the "Saint Panteleymon" already accurately shot for 110 cables (1 cable = 185 meters). Two year before that in the Tsushima battle enemies shot at a distance of 55 cables only. Since December 10, 1907, in accordance with the adopted new classification the ironclad was enrolled in the battleship-class ships. In 1910-11, the battleship was modernized and became a flagship of the Black Sea Fleet. In autumn 1911, the "Saint Panteleymon" won the first established "Challenge Imperial Prize for the Best Shooting Ships". Three years after, this training has affected in battles of the World War I. April 28, 1915, the battleship "Saint Panteleymon" opened fire with an extreme distance of 104 cables against the German battlecruiser "Goeben", which was struck after the second shot. After the Civil War the reconstruction of the damaged and obsolete ship was decided not reasonable. She was dismantled for scrap in 1923.
