The sIG 33 German 15 cm heavy infantry gun in production since 1933 was the key infantry artillery piece of the Wehrmacht early in WWII. It provided German infantry a considerable edge on the battlefield. The sIG 33’s ammo load comprised ammunition of various types, including special high-explosive and smoke shells as well as 15 cm hollow-charge shells punching through armor up to 16 cm thick. Total produced 4,505 guns.
